This year, 2022 marks the 80th anniversary of the 100th Infantry Battalion. Through the Challenge you can be a part of the celebration! Your project will make all of Hawai‘i proud as we honor these special Hawai‘i heroes and recognize their values and contributions that made Hawai‘i what it is today.

The Challenge

​The Challenge was for Hawaii middle and high school students to identify an important issue or problem facing Hawai‘i and create an innovative solution to address this challenge by applying the values, sacrifices, contributions, and accomplishments of the World War II 100th Infantry Battalion soldiers and veterans.

and their contributions to Hawai‘i after the war.

• We’ll also offer you mentors and other resources to help you be successful.
• Your solution can be presented as a business idea, video, website, art piece; or a poem, story, or play!
